Whitby Tennis Club COVID-19 Rules for 2023

The Whitby Tennis Club COVID-19 Rules for 2023 must be understood and adhered to by all WTC members and all participants in club programs.

Failure to adhere to these rules will result in termination of club privileges without any refund of fees.

Each time before entering the fenced-in court area during times permitted by The Whitby Tennis Club, each person, including club members, club participants, as well as guests and spectators invited by club participants or invited by the Club must complete the following self-assessment by answering “yes” or “no” to the SELF-ASSESSMENT QUESTIONS, and follow the RULES outlined below.

SELF ASSESSMENT QUESTION 1

Do you or anyone in your household have one or more of these new or worsening symptoms today or in the last 5 days?

  • Fever and/or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Decrease or loss of taste and/or smell
  • Muscle aches/joint pain
  • Extreme tiredness
  • Sore throat
  • Runny or stuffy/congested nose
  • Headache
  • Nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea
     

SELF ASSESSMENT QUESTION 2

In the last 14 days, have you travelled outside of Canada and been told to quarantine per federal government requirements?

Has a doctor, health care provider, or public health unit told you that you should currently be isolating (staying at home)?

In the last 5 days, have you tested positive for COVID-19?  This includes a positive COVID-19 test result on a lab-based PCR test, rapid molecular test, rapid antigen test, or home base self-testing kit?

SELF ASSESSMENT QUESTION 5

Do any of the following apply?

  • You live with someone who is currently isolating because of a positive COVID-19 test
  • You live with someone who is currently isolating because of COVID-19 symptoms
  • You live with someone who is waiting for COVID-19 test results

You may answer “no” if you completed your isolation after testing positive in the last 90 days, using a rapid antigen, rapid molecular, or PCR test.

SELF ASSESSMENT QUESTION 6

In the last 5 days have you been identified as a “close contact” of someone who currently has COVID-19 or has symptoms of COVID-19?

You may answer “no” if any of the following apply:

  • You are fully vaccinated, not immunocompromised, and you do not live with the person who has COVID-19 or symptoms of COVID-19
  • You completed your isolation after testing positive in the last 90 days using a rapid antigen, rapid molecular, or PCR test. 

Rules

If you answered “Yes” to one or more of the above self-assessment questions, you may not participate in Whitby Tennis Club activities until the situation has been resolved.

The courts are not subject to a cleaning protocol by the Town or by the WTC, i.e. on door handles, benches, nets, etc. It is the responsibility of everyone using the facility during the WTC permitted hours to ensure they are practicing good hand hygiene by using their own hand sanitizer after touching any surfaces at the facility.

Players shall take home or dispose in town trash cans all items that they brought to the court, including used wipes/tissues, balls and cans, beverage containers, etc

These Whitby Tennis Club COVID-19 Rules for 2023 are subject to change as the COVID situation evolves.  Members and participants in club programs will be notified via email when changes occur, and the most up to date version will be posted on the Whitby Tennis Club web site.
