2021 Season Update:

Update - June 20, 2021

Finally, we have some great news to share.  The Town of Whitby is on schedule to complete the construction of the tennis courts at Iroquois by July 2nd.

As soon as the construction is complete we will offer tennis court bookings.

We are also excited to announce that we will be offering our most popular leagues this summer, Ladies Doubles, Men's Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Adult Singles Ladder and the Junior league.  The start date for these leagues has not yet been confirmed, however, if the construction of the tennis courts remains on schedule, we are hopeful that we can start the leagues the week of July 12th.

Membership registration will open by the end of this week.  Registration will be open to everyone, returning members and the general public.

Please be aware, as part of the registration process, all members MUST sign the WTC COVID waiver.  If the waiver has not been signed, you will not be able to book a tennis court or participate in the leagues.

Prior to registering with the club, it is strongly recommended that you review the COVID waiver, as well as, the COVID rules which are available on the Whitby Tennis Club's website. Click here for information.  Please note, that this is information only and the actual signing of the waiver must be done at the time of registration, after you have paid your registration fees.

Watch out for another email, to be sent a little later this week, confirming the official opening day of registration.

Update - April 19, 2021

With the latest changes to the provincial lockdown, this is going to have an impact on getting court permits from the Town of Whitby.  Unfortunately, it will delay getting permits until at least the first week of June.

As things change and we have new information, we will pass this along to you.

Update - April 13, 2021

A reminder that the courts at Iroquois will be under construction starting mid April for about 4-6 weeks.  Meantime, we are currently working with the Town of Whitby to try and get permits for alternate locations, to allow for member court bookings only.  Once we have secured the court permits we will announce registration dates via email and on our website.

Once the construction has been completed and we have moved back to the courts at Iroquois, we will then consider adding leagues for the 2021 season based on the COVID-19 rules at that time.

For anyone who was hoping to play in the Durham Region Competetive Tennis League (DRCTL) or the Durham Ladies League this summer, please note that unfortunately these leagues have already been cancelled for the 2021 season due to COVID-19.

We have not been informed by the Town as to when the nets will be put up on all of the other courts in Whitby, but just a friendly reminder that when the nets do go up and you are using the courts during public hours, as per the Town of Whitby, that there is a 30 minute time limit if there are other people waiting to play.

Update - March 13, 2021

Due to the construction that will be taking place at the tennis courts at Iroquois this spring, the start of our outdoor season will be delayed.

We have been informed that the court resurfacing will start mid April, weather permitting, and is expected to take 4-6 weeks.  We are hoping for construction to be completed by mid June.
