Sign up sheets are at the courts. | TENNIS COURT RELOCATION | On May 26, 2010, the Whitby Tennis Club moved to the new tennis courts on the north side of Iroquois Park. The six new courts offer the following features: Deco colour court surface (same as Rexall Centre) Court colours (royal blue inner and spring green outer) New fencing New lighting (32 lights at the new courts vs. 20 lights at the existing courts - no more shadows) Playground next to the courts Outdoor and indoor washroom facilities
| ADULTS (Go to the ADULT PROGRAMS section of the website for more information) | Everyday Champions Event: This a national program run by the Dairy Farmers of Canada and Tennis Canada which promotes tennis and the daily consumption of milk as part of a healthy lifestyle. We are the ONLY summer tennis club in Canada the Everyday Champions is holding an event at this season!!! Anne McDougall was honoured as the Whitby Tennis Club's Everyday Champion during the BBQ and grand opening of the new tennis courts on Friday June 25, 2010. Anne has been a driving force within the WTC for many years. She has been a member for 11 years, served on the executive team for five years and is actively involved in various committees, including the Dinner/Dance Committee and BBQ Committee. Anne co-convenes the Thursday night mixed doubles league and somehow still finds time to play in the Social, Ladies, Mixed and Intercounty Ladies Leagues! Congratulations Anne, on being the Whitby Tennis Club's 2010 Everyday Champion! | Adult House Leagues: Due to the popularity of the mixed doubles league, the following changes have been made to the house leagues to accommodate the majority of the members. House leagues on Tuesday and Thursday evenings will start at 6:20pm and use all 6 courts. a) Monday Mixed Doubles Team Tennis - 48 to 64 players b) Tuesday Ladies Doubles - Tuesday at 6:20 and 7:30pm (48 players) c) Tuesday Men's Doubles - Tuesday at 8:40 and 9:50pm (48 players) d) Thursday Mixed Doubles - 48 teams (96 players) To end the season on a high note, playoffs or a tournament will take place for all house leagues. | Court Permit Hours: There are over 2,000 hours permitted for non-scheduled play at Iroquois plus the following times on Court 1 at McKinney (Mon, Tues, Thurs from 4-9pm and Sat / Sun from 9am-12noon). If you plan to play tennis at McKinney. there are court booking sheets inside the main lobby of the McKinney complex. Make sure you wear your shoe tag at all times. Court Booking Rules: Members can book 1 court for 1 hour of singles or 2 hours of doubles per day. Adult members can book tennis courts for junior members. First and last names of ALL players must be noted on the court booking sheet. | Adult Round Robin: There will be 2 times to come out and play tennis in a less competitive environment: Friday from 9-11am and Sunday from 7-9 pm. | Adult Tournaments run from 9am-1pm with fruit etc. provided and a light lunch served after the tournament. The cost for each tournament is $10 for members and $20 for non-members. ALL members are welcome regardless of skill level. | | |

| JUNIORS (Go to the JUNIOR PROGRAMS section of the website for more information) | Junior Group Lessons: 8 group lessons (6 guaranteed + 2 weather permitting) concluding at the end of June. Please advise the WTC if you require a Child Tax credi receipt. | Junior House League: For juniors who can play full court tennis, the house league will be played to greater participation (more FUN) while encouraging competitive play. When? Tuesday afternoons from 5:00 to 6:20pm and is open to junior members of all skill levels. | Junior Tournaments from 9am-1pm with fruit etc. provided and a light lunch served after the tournament. The cost for each tournament is $10 for members and $20 for non-members. ALL are welcome regardless of skill level (Min age 6). | | | | |
